The Child Support Agency handles the vast majority of child support matters for separated Australian families. The Child Support Agency has various powers, and these may affect the ability of parents to settle orders or to make their own agreements.

Child support is a complex area of family law which requires careful consideration.

Parents can enter into: -

  • Limited Child Support Agreements, which may be changed after 3 years;
  • Binding Child Support Agreements, which are meant to remain in force until children turn 18.
