Pippa Colman is a solicitor and the sole proprietor of Pippa Colman & Associates.
History
Pippa commenced her legal career at the age of 17 years and, after completing 5 years articles of clerkship and the 19 subjects required by the Solicitor's Board, Pippa was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland on 27 February 1979.
Pippa has lived on the Sunshine Coast since 1964 and has spent nearly all her professional life on the Sunshine Coast.
Pippa established the firm "Pippa Colman & Associates" on 26 March 2001.
"My proudest achievement is that I have four lovely children, four grandchildren and I am still happily married to my husband, who is my practice manager. My hobbies include gym, wining and dining, travelling, and collecting tax deductions."
Pippa is proud to be a lawyer and mediator. Her focus is dispute resolution at the earliest possible time, at a reasonable cost to the parties, in a manner which takes advantage of all tax and stamp duty concessions available, and with maximum benefit to the family.

Professional Development
Pippa takes great pride and satisfaction in contributing to the professional development of her colleagues, students, clients and other members of the community having since 1981:
- Conducted training at Nambour TAFE;
- Regularly presented for the Queensland Law Society, Legalwise, Television Education Network, Lexus Nexus and District Law Associations continuing legal education programs for the ongoing professional development of legal practitioners;
- Lectured students at local Sunshine Coast Schools about law;
- Lectured accountants on marketing;
- Conducted mediation training courses for the University of Queensland and assisted at trainings for the Bond University and the Accord Group in Hong Kong and Malaysia;
- Provided continuing professional development and organised on average two seminars per month for the local legal professionals and clients on all Family Law and related topics;
- Undertaken training as a Red Day Coach, a unique results achievement system which teaches business owners how to have more growth, more time and more money.
Community Interests
Pippa has been actively involved in the community throughout her legal career including:
- Helping to establish the Duty Lawyer scheme in the Magistrates Court at Maroochydore during the 1980s.
- Participating in Law Society committees, including Alternative Dispute Resolution and continuing professional development.
- In 1995, establishing and then maintaining, with her colleague Margaret Rimmer, the Sunshine Coast Family Contact Centre, a facility which enables children to see other family members in a non – conflict setting, following family breakdown.
- Receiving jointly in 2001 the Queensland Law Society Law week award for community service.
- Being actively involved in – Lifesaving, school activities, supporting sporting activities, Citizen's Advocacy, supporter and office bearer at Sunshine Coast Family Contact Centre, volunteer for Sunshine Coast Community Legal Service, speaking on law at local high schools, coaching school children in mediation and participating as an office bearing in the Sunshine Coast Law Association.
- Appearing as a panel member, representing the Office of the Mediation Advisor for the ACCC in the Competing Fairly Forum of Franchising.
- Appearing as a panel member in an educational program run by the Legal Services Commission.
- Representing the Sunshine Coast at the quarterly Judges meetings at the Family Court of Australia, Brisbane Registry.
- Co-authoring of the book "Top 3 Local Businesses" published 2007.
- An active member of BNI Power Partners (Nambour).
